IzyLrn ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and services, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
1. Information we collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Account information — name, email address, phone number, grade, board, and institution name. Provided by you at signup.
- Usage data — questions attempted, AI tutor messages, time spent on lessons, test scores, and feature usage. Collected automatically as you use the platform.
- Payment information — billing name and address. Card details are processed directly by our payment partners (Stripe and Razorpay) and never stored on our servers.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account.
- To personalize lessons, AI responses, and practice questions.
- To send weekly progress reports to parents (with consent).
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To improve the service through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
- To respond to support requests.
3. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers required to operate the platform:
- AI providers — OpenAI, Google (Gemini), and xAI (Grok) process your tutor questions to generate responses. Prompts are not used by these providers to train their models.
- Payment processors — Stripe and Razorpay handle billing.
- Email delivery — SendGrid sends transactional emails (receipts, password resets, progress reports).
- Hosting — our infrastructure provider hosts the application securely.
4. Children's privacy
IzyLrn is designed for students aged 10 and older. Users under 18 must have a parent or guardian agree to our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 10. If you believe we have, contact us at students@izylrn.com and we will delete it.
5. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time. After deletion, anonymized usage data may be retained for up to 12 months for analytics.
6. Security
We use industry-standard practices: TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords (bcrypt), role-based access control, and regular security reviews. No system is 100% secure — we will notify affected users of any breach within 72 hours.
7. Your rights
You can at any time:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent for parent progress reports.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your language preference. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on the marketing site.
9. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
